As a perfumer, Kilian Hennessy has a passion for unique journeys. During his travels through remote regions of China, he became enchanted by the royal ritual of jasmine tea. He witnessed firsthand the delicate process: jasmine flowers handpicked at dawn are laid upon dried tea leaves — a process repeated several times so that the natural fragrance of the blossoms infuses the tea to its very core. This deeply sensual experience, followed by the refined tea tasting ritual, is what Kilian describes as “a divine moment you wish could last forever.” Upon returning to Paris, he was determined to immortalize that memory in a fragrance. Imperial Tea is the olfactory embodiment of the finest jasmine tea — once reserved only for the imperial court. Perfumer: Calice Becker.
